An anonymous reader submits: 'Cube Hacker is reporting that a new network loader has been released which allows you to execute retail code by exploiting a known bug.
READ THE DESCRIPTION BEFORE ASKING YOUR QUESTION PLS (It will be ignored if the information is readily available) ▶Follow on Twitter for help! - ▶Download Link for Dios Mios Essentials - ▶Download Link for Dios Mios Essentials (ALT) - ▶YOU NEED TO USE DIOS MIOS LITE FOR AN SD CARD, google for that and swap it for the one I included if you intend to use an SD CARD ▶As was stated in the video, if you cannot load regular discs once this process is complete, you must reinstall the stock cMios I included for you. ▶It appears as though this link does not have direct download links anymore, but there are some in the comments. You will need to toy around with those if you intend to try and use an SD card - ▶Make sure to place your converted ISO's into a folder called 'games' in the root of your USB, and it is formatted to FAT32 with 32kb cluster size if it isn't already set to that upon formatting. ▶Some USBs and HDDs are simply incompatible with Dios Mios, there is a compatibility list floating around somewhere but it is not entirely exclusive or exhaustive so you may have to perform trial and error with different USBs!
▶You cannot have Wii and Gamecube games on the same drive (Some have told me this works but I cannot guarantee it as I can't get it working myself) ▶Use ios249 if 236 is not there for you. ▶If 249 turns off your Wiimote, then you'll have to manually install 236. ▶Here is a link to another tutorial for installing ios236 manually - (UPDATED ) ▶If DMToolbox isn't straight forward enough for you, alternative programs like DiscEx are an option ▶Here is a link for the DiscEx download - ▶If you are getting a black screen try putting a GC disc in! ▶N.M.M is the memory option, however it is rather buggy so don't depend on it.
Try and use a mem card if possible. ▶Put the ENTIRE FOLDER that DMToolbox or DiscEx gives you in the 'games' folder ▶You MUST have gamecube ports for this to work. You cannot use anything other than a GameCube controller to play your games. ▶Lastly, if none of this works then I probably cannot help you, you'll have to take to the internet for that Moved this video here from my other channel. Note I don't condone piracy of any kind, just showing you how you can play backups of your favourite games so you don't scratch your precious discs! Hope you enjoyed the video, and if it helped you please consider subscribing! ▶Please consider a donation as it helps me keep this channel running!
- How To Play GameCube Backups on Wii Dios Mios Tutorial Softmodded Wii GameCube USB Loader.
Ok, this is taken from wiibrew: Purpose Launch Gamecube homebrew on Wii. Read before using! Program can be dangerous, because the flash is changed. Changes in Version 0.2 1. Support for front SD slot. Gamecube disc work normally.
Background Information DOL loader is patched into MIOS. If Wii switches to Gamecube mode, the DOL loader is always started. The loader will start Gamecube homebrew if loaded by GCBooterHomebrew. The loader launches the normal GC loader if no homebrew is detected. This behaviour can be disabled by reinstalling a normal MIOS. Installation Steps 1.
Copy RVL-mios-v5.wad.out.wad into root of front SD card (This file is not part of the archive and is located on Super Mario Galaxy Disc (EU), Mario Kart (EU) and maybe on all discs released in between). If you use a different version, this is on your own risk. The MIOS patching wad installer will only allow to install MIOS. This can only break the GC mode.
Loader should not patch any starlet code. Patch MIOS using MIOSPatchingWADInstaller. Copy your Gamecube Homebrew DOL into SD root as start.dol. Use Wii front SD slot. Launch GCBooterHomebrew. This should start the the DOL on the SD card. If screen looks strange, you need to try it again.
It is sometimes not working. And now, a few questions.
What is exactly being patched. I already have SMG and MKWii, does that mean i dont need the patch? Can someone rewrite the instructions in readable english?
Gamecube Loader Wii
Does this mean that normal gamecube disks work like normal, and will boot the.dol file that is on the wiis SD card? With step 2, is that just installing a normal MIOS, or is it slightly modifying the one that you download from SMG/MKWii? Im worried about how this works. You don't need the patch. It's to play GameCube homebrew on Wii.- ok, so whats that about MKWii and SMG in the install instructions?
It is English. Easy to understand. READABLE english. There are long complicated sentances that completley confused me. (dam, that sounded like im saying im thick xD) 4. Run the Gamecube Homebrew Booter included in the package. I haven't tried a Gamecube disk yet.
Is that all i have to do? It installs a patched MIOS (modified) which loads the DOL loader when Gamecube mode is started. Gamecube homebrew booter does exactly the same thing as the gamecube regio free booter?
Just boots gamecube mode? And then the modified MIOS takes over and loads the thing of the SD card? You don't need the patch. It's to play GameCube homebrew on Wii.- ok, so whats that about MKWii and SMG in the install instructions? It is English.
