Maybe the idea of having less save rooms was intended but may have found it a bit frustrating for some players needing to restock on items and ammunition they obtained. That, or Nemesis fired his rocket launcher to destroy it. XD The beta items shown here are quite an interesting find. Especially the three coins.

I’m not sure what their uses were, but they may have been part of a puzzle like the one in Resident Evil 2 that had three stones of the same color used to open the wall to Chief Iron’s secret room. A puzzle that was planned, but not added in the final. Also, if you combine the nozzle and the broken fire hose together, it will say, “Non Message” after trying to use it with the fire hydrant.
